Artist statement:
'I work primarily with silver and silicone rubber. My fascination with combining traditional and modern materials started during my four year degree course in Dundee, Scotland.
I am now based in Auckland and renting a work space at Workshop 6. In my current work I have taken a contemporary look at precious stones by hand crafting rubber stones and setting them in a traditional style setting. In doing this I hope to question what makes a material precious. Can industrial materials if crafted and manipulated to create a unique object become beautiful and in turn valuable?'
